Overview

ExoBrain is an open-source CLI tool that turns Obsidian into an AI-powered knowledge system. Distributed as an npm package, it sets up in under 5 minutes and runs entirely on your machine — no subscriptions, no cloud lock-in, just plain Markdown you own.

The Problem

Most note-taking apps either require manual curation (time-consuming) or lock your data in proprietary formats. Staying on top of daily news, summarising content, and building a connected knowledge base takes hours every week.

The Solution

A single npx exobrain command wires Claude AI into your existing Obsidian vault via a macOS launchd job, automating the tedious parts: morning briefings are ready when you wake up, and any YouTube video, PDF or podcast becomes a structured note in seconds.
